2004 Season – FIRST Frenzy: Raising the Bar
Game Description: The game for the 2004 season requires robots to collect and pass 13” balls to the human player to then shoot them into fixed and moveable goals. There are three 30” balls on the playing field that can be placed on top of any goal by a robot, which will double the point value in the goal. Additionally, robots may attempt to “hang’ from a 10’ bar.

Robot Description: Team 237’s robot was built on a 6 wheel drive system that was powered by dual speed transmissions. Mounted onto the base was single pivoting arm that could also vertically extend. The robot was able to climb the center part of the field and use its pneumatically powered arm to climb onto the 10-foot bar. Using a roller claw, the robot was able to transverse the bar and block opponent’s robots from climbing onto the bar.
